Red Dead Redemption 2 Brings Back John Marston - GameSpot Daily

RDR2's trailer shows off more of the PS4 and Xbox One game, while the Cyberpunk 2077 dev gets listed for an "RPG" at E3.

The latest trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 has released, giving us a bunch of story moments and a look at who could be a young John Marston. The game centers on Dutch Van der Linde's gang, so it's no surprise Marston plays at least some part. However, the shot of Marston shows him with stitches, which hints at how he got his scars. On top of the Marston cameo, we got some more information on what the story will actually be about. Protagonist Arthur Morgan is a part of the Dutch gang, though the age of the Wild West seems to coming to an end.

There is conflict within the gang, and Morgan "must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him." Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any gameplay of the PS4 and Xbox One game. Regardless, we go deeper into the trailer in today's episode of GameSpot Daily, but we've also got a handful of other stories coming at you in 30 minutes or less.

While it's not the biggest news in the world, Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red was listed on the E3 site under the RPG category for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This doesn't confirm Cyberpunk 2077 or the studio's unannounced RPG for E3, but the breadcrumb trail seems to be getting more... bread-ier? Crumbier? Whatever.

In other news, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 developer Treyarch continues to tease aspects of the upcoming shooter. A fan sent the studio a tweet, saying they heard perks were not returning for the new sequel. Treyarch replied with a cheeky tweet that said "Don't worry, we know some people... which has its perks..." and showed an image that featured what look like perk icons. We'll learn more about Black Ops 4 on May 17.

We also talk about Saints Row 2 coming to Xbox One backwards compatibility and the upcoming Dark Souls Remastered network test, which you can get ready for right now. That's what you'll find in this episode, but be sure to tune in every day of the week at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST/7 PM BST/4 AM AEST for another episode of GameSpot Daily. We cover the most exciting gaming news in 30 minutes or less or Red Dead Redemption 2 gets delayed again.
