Gears 5 will not feature any depictions of smoking. Rod Fergusson, head of the developer The Coalition said he’s been against depictions of smoking in Gears of War from the beginning. He wanted to cleanse Gears of smoking to avoid glamorizing it and because of his own personal connection to lung cancer.
