Feedbackula - GTA V Review Revulsion

God...The score wasn't the problem you jerks, It's Mr. Petit wanted to push an agenda in the review. That, That is what some of us dislike.

The review was done to get hits...and boy, oh boy...You got the hits.

I think 9/10 was a fine score, and I think Carolyn's opinion was valid and legitimate. But if it had any relevance on the score (as it was listed as a detriment, but we can't be too sure) then I think that's slightly questionable. I think the opinion itself was not out of place and it does fit well in the context of reviewing a medium of entertainment that's almost considered a form of art, but it's just something thats a bit of a grey area in my mind.

Politics in games, games accepted by the broader audience, games as an art medium....

Remember when games were just about having fun? Yeah.

Are you fucking kidding me? This weeks Feedbackula was wasted on Grand Theft Auto. Hasn't there already been enough article and videos posted about that stupid game? **** you Gamespot!

Couldn't have said it better Johnny; the level of rage over a 9/10 score and Carolyn's opinion has been absolutely outrageous but will it ever stop? Not likely because there exists no efficient system for preventing these comments from going live, be it on GS or indeed across the entire internet. Ban someone and they'll just do it all over again in another account.

I'm not encouraging you to mention more deceitful comments but don't give up on this show! Maybe if you mentioned more constructive and positive comments then maybe people would stop and take note in the future.

An absolute Home Run, Johnny.

It's sad that a critic cannot give a game criticism without receiving hatred and personal attacks. We see people fight over games being art and wanting them to get the same recognition then they have to undertake the same criticism. If the game tackles political satire but doesn't do it perfectly, or missing the point at all as I've observed in the game, then it isn't perfect. Story is a feature of the game and it falls flat at times and is over the top for over the top's sake at times. That said, there are a minor issues in my mind that keep it from being a 10/10. Then again, that's my opinion.

GTAV is amazing. It is something that should not be missed. It is not perfect for a number of reasons but is amazing. A real 9/10 by my book. Would giving it a 10/10 have made the game better and covered up those issues and flaws? No. Just because it is an outstanding game in an outstanding series does not hold it above criticism or entitle it to a higher score. Everyone can have a different opinion over the game without them being wrong. Conflicting opinions does not necessitate that one is right and the other isn't.

It's sad to see our community explode into juvenile anger and hatred over something and not have a real discussion over it. The point of Gamespot and us as a community is to bond over our love of the gaming media not to give us a forum for who can be the biggest loudest hate monger.

I'm with you, Carolyn and Johnny, and I'm unsure if I'm going to play this game.

well all I gotta say is that she didn't say anything bad about the game except for the bad portrayal of women in mine opinion was the reason in got a 9/10 just fyi

Personally I don't think any game should receive a 10/10 ever. In my eyes that's a perfect score, and it should be unachievable because there is always something that could be improved, in any game. That being said, gamespot is notoriously hard on games, (which I personally like) and ign is overly forgiving. That being said all a review really is is someones opinion on something and we are all entitled to our opinions. you do not have to agree with this review or any review for that matter.

Really caught off guard by Johnny's change in tone, but I guess I would be f**king pissed too if one of my colleagues was verbally attacked. Criticism of a game-review and GS is one thing, but no one has the right to attack someone personally, our community went a lil' too far this time.

true that every reviewer has their own opinion but bringing politics into a review is stupid. If the game isn't fun or there are some technical issues then fine, dock the game, but complaining about the way the game potrays women???That is a new fuking low for a review.

Geez, when was the last 10/10 game released. It most have been decades ago. It must be such a rare site like big foot or something. Bottom line, in every game now and in the future, their will ALWAYS be something the critics find flawed about a game. I'm sure it probably is part of the reviewing SOP.

If that were true, then there will never, ever be another game with a 10 rating. Maybe they are maxed out at 9, kind of like a 9/9. No one would be upset if that were the case.
