A great addition to the Unreal series, but the controls ruin it.

Recommend---Any fan of First-Person Shooters, the Unreal Series, Epic, Gears of War, and basically any action fan.

Not Recommend---People who hate console First-Person Shooters because there's a lot of issues here.

Unreal Championship is a GREAT GAME. And don't get me wrong, because off the bat I'm just going to say that this is the worst Unreal game ever made. And the reason is simple: It's on the Xbox. You see, this game has amazing graphics (for the time, it competed with the PC version of UT2003/2004) and amazing sound. The gameplay is great, but it's flawed because of the controls. That's the main issue with UTC. It's so much easier to play a FPS on a mouse and keyboard, and now we must use an Xbox controller. And I'm not saying using a controller is THAT bad, because it works just fine with the HALO games and other FPS. It just doesn't seem to work with this game. Even trying to switch the controls around, it still doesn't work how you want it to. This just makes the game soooo much harder. It's impossible to aim on the harder levels, and most of the time you miss or shoot randomly in a certain area and hope that it hits someone. But behind these controls is an excellent game. The single-player is fun, there are a bunch of levels (though much less than the PC), new weapon designs, and the multiplayer. I never had Xbox Live so I don't know how online play worked, but I'm sure it was just as fun as it is on the PC. My last issue is that this game is really just UT2003, but with much less content. There are a few new maps, but nothing to get excited about (especially since you can get these maps for the PC too through downloads). There is no user-created content on this version, and no Unreal Editor. This depletes the replay value, but it's still fun.

Conclusion---If only the controls were better, this game would almost be flawless. It's still fun, though, and you should check it out.
