Over the years Nathan Drake has become and Iconic charcter, The treasure hunter in sorts has set the Indiana Jones thrill of adventure in gaming Like Lara Croft did long ago. Weather you have played an Uncharted or not Golden Abyss is a solid game and for a Vita launch title it was chosen well.

You once again take control of Nathan Drake, He is and his freind, Dante, set to see there sights in Centeral America. Of course Nate once again gets caught up in exploring ruins, hunting treasure, and what would Nate's adventure be, without some General or leader of the army getting in his way every corner. This time Drake is hunting for the Golden Abyss, the gateway to hell. Uncharted once gain delievers a quality story through historical facts, actually people, legends, and artifacts. Compelling this handheld adventure foward. Keep in mind this game takes place before Nate and Sully have there adventure in Uncharted Drakes Fortune.

The gameplay is pretty much the same as the other Uncharted installments, though the gunplay can be quite irritating at times, it isn't enough to make you hate the game. The game can be played with the touch screen such as, the platforming aiming, but do not fret you can always use the classic controls, to aim and climb. The touch screen is incorperated into the gameplay in may new and creative ways. The first is combat you block and counter using the touch screen as an arrow moves across the screen. You also move objects this way. The journal is also accessed from the touchscreen. The touch screen also is used to clean the dust off of objects, you use the front screen to clean the object and the rear touchpad to rotate the object. The Puzzles in the game make full use of the touch screen too, rotating dials, using lock combinations, putting together scraps of paper to makeout what something says. It is all gameplay that makes the adventure feel fresh and original.

Uncharted Golden Abyss isn't what is console predessors are, but the game is still fun for those of you who are Uncharted fans or if your looking for a solid game on the Vita. The only thing this game doesn't have to offer is its Multiplayer, I've never been much of a biggie on the Uncharted Multiplayer its all about the single player experince for me. Bend Studios has done a nice job in keeping the spirit of Uncharted afloat, and Naughty Dog chose wisely to let them develop the game. Nate's handheld adventure is a worthy addition to the Uncharted Series. 8.5/10
