A great experience struck by an average gameplay...

User Rating: 7 | Uncharted 4: A Thief's End PS4

Uncharted 4 is probably the best reason for someone who hasn't played any of the previous games and doesn't own a PS4 to get one. Everything that doesn't have to do with the gameplay part of the game is great. Graphics, sound, voice acting, everything.

For the experienced gamers like me, I believe that it will feel empty and shallow. First and foremost, it is highly repetitive and predictable. Cheap thrills, predictable story and dialogue, b-movie catchy phrases and jokes etc...

Though I can live with all these, what I couldn't stand was how average the gameplay was, especially the gunplay. The game's structure is similar in every area: do the same stunts, then an area with bad guys, some more of the same stunts, then some bad guys again. There are also some rather easy puzzles in between that won't really blow your mind.

Gunplay was the worst part of the game for me. The enemies are flanking you down from almost every direction and you have very little options or tools to use to make your life easier and it ends up in a mess where you run around flipping and dodging the bullets. Most of the guns are also ineffective, making you rely to the shotgun or sniper rifle in order to do damage. Seriously sometimes it is better to try and reach an enemy to melee him rather than trying to shoot him.

To conclude, Uncharted 4 is a good movie-game with some generic gameplay in the middle. To be honest, I enjoyed Rise of the Tomb Raider more.
