Gets most of what a good spider-man game is all about right. And that's saying a lot.

I'm a spider-man fan since childhood reading the comic in the grocery store and always been disappointed by the lack of (good) spider-man games.

It's somehow very difficult to translate this spectacular webslinger into a game that is not only fun to play, but also remains faithful to it's source material. (Yeah, I'm hinting at you too Sam Raimi, I'll never never forgive you for the black suit.)

Yet, I watch in dismay other gamedeveloppers take the many qualities of what makes spider-man spectacular and do that which marvel deems impossible to do.

For instance the spider- like leaps and wall crawling abilities in the game infamous or the batman ark-ham games with its detecting thugs approaching from behind, which looks suspiciously similar to a spidey sense.

But I digress, this game does spidey justice like a champ. It keeps things like webslinging and fighting pretty basic, but in a very authentic spidey fashion.

It looks clean and fluid and therefore pretty cool and fun.

The amazing amount of missions you have does lead to a sense of repetitiveness, but as a fan that is hardly worth mentioning.

Maybe I'm just getting too old for spider-man. I stopped reading the comic years ago.

Still, every time there's a new spider-man game out, I have to settle that nostalgic heart down from getting overexcited.

With this game however, it gets what it wants. Enough to keep it quiet for a while.
