Twisted Metal 4 is a good game but has a fair share of dissapointments.

After Twisted Metal 3 I'm pretty sure that not too many people got real pumped about a sequel. Twisted Metal 4 is okay but has it's fair share of disapointments.

I'll start out saying Twisted Metal 4 is a big leap from TM3. Twisted Metal 3 was a really big disapointment to all TM fans. TM4 is, rest assured a little bit better. One thing to say is the best part is the plot twist. Usually Calypso is head of Twisted Metal. In TM4 Sweet Tooth takes over and puts his own twist to the battle. Another cool difference is that there are more than 2 boss battles. After every level there is a boss waiting to take you down. Many of the boss's are characters from the first three games and every boss becomes playable after being defeated.

Here's the bad thing however. In the beggining you're stuck with lame new characters that have no right being in Twisted Metal. Long time fans will probably hate this. In terms of gameplay it hasn't really changed alot from TM3. The controlls are clunky and rough but you don't have to worry about flipping and crashing after hiting a snowman. At least the collision is dimed down a bit. You still get stuck on rails and walls.

In TM4 there is a create-a-car option in case you hate the ones you already have. Though there are only a few options in this and it gets to be a drag after the first two times. Multiplayer is the same as any other Twisted Metal game and does get fairly repetitive.

Twisted Metal 4 is an okay game. It's a great game actually. It's just not a great Twisted Metal game, and it's better for a weekend rental though.
