My God! This game is a must have! Most likely the best game of the year!
Gameplay (9/10): Shooting mechanics are incredibly smooth, puzzle elements are satisfying, there is plenty of exploration to be done, and the platforming isn't frustrating in the slightest. The only reason this game doesn't get a 10 is because it is incredibly easy on the hardest setting! Also it borrows a lot of mechanics and set pieces from Uncharted, which isn't really a bad thing, but still..
Story (10/10): Wow, just wow. Believable acting and an in depth story as how Lara became to be a tomb raider is an incredibly powerful and emotional journey. Fantastic script and the main voice actor and motion capture is unbelievably good for a game!
Level Design (10/10): The level design is incredible, although you have a clear certain path forwards at all times, the game gives you a nice sandbox style area to get to your destination and an arena for stealth of gun blazing combat. Everything in the world looks believable, yet slightly out there and mystical. Clearly A LOT of work has gone into this, and it really does pay off. Tomb raiding in this world is fantastic.
Graphics (10/10): Apart from the occasional visual glitch, such as when you have the TESSFX turned on for her hair, the graphics are phenominal. High res textures and models really make this not your average console port. The lighting and shadows are all DX11 and effects such as fire look incredibly realistic.
Enemies (9/10): There are a LOT of them at times and they can start to feel a little predictible, but if you take them out stealthily, they WILL rely on sounds and line of site that makes a stealthy approach incredibly rewarding. However you can very easily outsmart them, meaning a guns blazing approach is a little flat. The variety of enemies is really good and the gun that they are using really does play a part in how you tackle them. The rifle wielding enemies destroy your health extremely quickly, wheras the bow guys knock you back from long range.
OVERALL: 9.5/10
This game is fantastic, and is the best game since Borderlands 2! Quite possibly game of the year! If you like uncharted, you MUST play this. The quality is on par!
