Short but sweet. Very fun multiplayer.

TimeSplitters is one of the shortest first-person shooters I have played in my life. I got this at GameStop for $5 just to try it out. I wasn't expecting much, but I was very pleased with the result.

TimeSplitters is a fast-paced, chock-full-of-action game that's great to start up at any time for a whirl. The graphics and load times aren't the best, but this game provides simple fun that doesn't seem to have an end to it.

The goal of the game is to attain an item (briefcase, computer files, etc.) and bring that item to a checkpoint. As simple as it is, it can be challenging but not so much as to make you never want to play it again. There is no map pointing you in the right direction, and sometimes you might be asking yourself why you hadn't noticed the path to the item before. The enemies aren't dumb, but with a steady shot, they're easy. After you get the item, the enemies pop out of nowhere to gun you down. You die once, and you go right back to the start.

I suggest playing with another person. Co-op is more fun than 1-Player, and much easier. If only one of you are dead, the other can save the day. It's a rush to cheer on your companion to beat the level once you're gone.

For how short the game is, it is very well done in gameplay, no matter how cheesy everything else is. Multiplayer is a blast, no arguing that. There is no need to make your own maps as the preset maps are always fun. The computer players can be challenging, and it's even more fun with 3 other people. In all, buy this game for cheap at GameStop. You can find it for under $10 and you won't be disappointed.
