Not Your Typical Movie Game

User Rating: 9.6 | The Warriors XBOX
This movie game is actually done exceptionally well, however it takes place before the events of the movie. This game has so much depth when it comes to extras and play modes. The game feels like GTA, and i'm pretty sure thanks to this game, the next GTA will have combos in it for hand to hand combat also. The sound, the environment, and the ability to interact with nearly 80% of the environment takes this game above Rockstar's rest. The cutscenes, the voice acting, is entertaining and not totally cheesey. The face models are nice, the player models are not, the backgrounds are washed out on the Xbox in terms of color, however the over all atmosphere feel is what it needs to be, the scare of the late 70s in grungy NYC. The biggest thing about this game is the depth, however. The ability to train each individual gang member and also play different missions as them, an also for them each to have different moves for the most part, really shows Rockstar puts time into their games, unlike other companies (EA). I think the idea on this game was original in taking a cult movie and putting it to its limits. Mulitplayer is nice to have. The two things that bother me about the game are the graphics sometimes, too GTA, and the controls bug me a lot. If i'm in battle, i'll find myself accidentally pushing down on the analog stick, thus changing my member's commands. The "manhunt" hiding in dark thing can have issues with the controls also. I'll find myself sprinting and i'll just kind of trail off somewhere or won't go through what I need to, even though i'm just holding up, which is an issue GTA has always had. The manual focus thing doesn't always work well. Besides those issues, great game, good idea, unlike State of Emergency.
