A really, really good family game.

No kidding - this game practically saved my family.

My daughter is 12, and hates doing anything with us. Then we discovered LOTRO, and wonder of wonders everyone in the family loves it.

Everyone has their own PC, and LOTRO has generally modest hardware requirements. We can all play together. We use Windows Live Messenger to chat while playing.

The online community is extremely nice. I used to play WoW, and the things people said to each other in chat were pretty vile. None of that on LOTRO. Completely suitable for children.

The game is fun, the graphics attractive, there are no bugs, the quests are interesting. And of course if you grew up on Tolkien you'll be right at home.

Did I mention it's completely free? Yes, Turbine tries to get you to spend money, but you really don't have to. There is an amazing amount of free content. You'll have a great time even if you don't spend a penny.
