The sequel to the greatest game of all time lives up to its reputation.

User Rating: 9.5 | Zelda no Densetsu: Majora no Kamen (w/Memory Pack) N64
When I started Majora's Mask, I had already completed the two most recent console Zelda's. I was working my way back in time, going from completing Twilight Princess to completing Ocarina of Time. Majora's Mask was third, and after playing the "Big Four" Zelda games, I have some things to say...

Gameplay: Just like Ocarina of Time. GameCube controller still works best, and switching masks on and off comes naturally. Swordplay is fresh and fun, using items is a snap, and not a single aspect of the gameplay doesn't work the way it should.

Graphics: Very detailed (more so than its predecessor), and the land of Termina looked well-rounded. Majora's Mask is colorful, detailed and had some of the best graphics of its time.

Presentation: Let's get one thing out of the way - Majora's Mask is a very dark, strange game. The moon is going to crash into Termina in 3 days, and it's all up to you (again) to stop the land from getting destroyed. Your adversary is Majora, who has taken the body of the Skull Kid. This game is very cinematic, and its presentation has some weird but extremely cool effects that could give little children seizures.

Sound: Just like every other Zelda - sensational.

My verdict: Majora's Mask is not as epic as Ocarina of Time, but focuses more on freedom and side quests. As you complete more sidequests involving varied characters, the story will unfold. You will feel a deep connection with the characters as you help them in their marriage, ward off alien invasions and even teach them dances. Your actions will determine those characters' futures, making Majora's Mask one of the coolest games I have ever played. Many would expect Majora's Mask to hide away in the shadow of Ocarina of Time, but Majora's Mask stands tall next to it as one of the defining games of all time.
