1 of the best 2-D fighting games

User Rating: 9 | The King of Fighters '98: Dream Match Never Ends PS
KOF 98 can be considered like an extension of 97 or like a " what if " or stand alone chapter since various characters presumed dead in the series make appearance in here .

The game features - besides the commomly known loading times before every round - a long and very - more than any previous - balanced cast of characters along with a lot of EX versions for some of they like Kyo, Ryo, Robert of '94, Terry and Mai of Real Bout games and Orochi versions of the Yashiro team . The game still let you choose beetwen the Ex and Advance styles of play which ones stands for previously styles : '95 and '96 .

The graphics, frame rate and speed of the game were slightly but significantly improved, the backgrounds look more colorful and they display a few changes in later rounds, the soundtrack consist on re-arranged tracks from past games but is not easy to appreciate since the long loading times periods cutt the music off and i'ts problably that you're gonna be hearing the same parts of the tracks over and over again .

All the characters had litte improvements and moves to discover making a bit stronger fighters that use to be weaker or difficult to play with - also to notice that this game is pretty challenging -, the characters have more animations and special presentations encountering another certain character given them more charisma somenthing this games are known for .

SNK succeed in delivering a solid port of the last of the classics King of Fighters .
