I play through it again 10 years later
Morrowind is an incredible rich, lush world. Dark elves, light elves, mushroom trees, a gigantic foreboding red mountain in the middle of the island, deserts, swamps, vampires, history that goes back thousands of years... it just goes on an on. You can levitate anywhere, walk across water, dive down into cavern pools, steal from vendors. It boggles my mind the amount of detail that has been put into this game. I maybe explored 10% of the total landmass. I found developing the character was tremendous fun, even after 10 years and am even thinking about going back through with a different type.
So, it's been about 40 hours and I'm finished, which left me a little sad - "What, no more??!!". What a terrific story - really a treat. With all the mods out there, I actually think it holds up quite favorably with current, and I think current games are actually dumb-downed compared the the expansiveness of this game. If you decide to play again, good chance you'll enjoy it!
