Pitch Black is one of my favorite movies and has been since the first time I saw it. However I was not expecting this game to be much better than decent. It amazed me, this game ranks up there with Halo and Splinter Cell, I would say it is actually better than Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. I would say this is a must have for any First Person Shooter fan! The graphics were great and so were the sound effects. The fighting was in my opinion, better than Breakdown. The ability to be able to throw bodies made it really easy to hide them and at times extremely fun, like throwing the bodies over railing and watching them tumble down. Interaction between characters is good to; you know what you have to do from the start of the game just by talking to the first few inmates you meet. The only downfall the game really has is the load times and there were a few times during the game were the frame rates dropped a little, not enough to take away from the game but it was noticeable. The gameplay keeps you guessing and on your feet, it has lots of twist in the story and you want to talk with every character to see if you can find out any helpful information. Stealth does play a big part in the game, and it was really fun sneaking around. The only time stealth is really required is when you don’t have any firearms, however you can set alarms and notify every guard in the game of your presence and the game keeps going. So if you do slip up and get detected it doesn’t require restarting, it just means you will be needing to replenish some health. The enemy AI is really good, they will turn flashlights on any dark areas so it makes you chose your hiding spots carefully. Over all this is the best game I have played in a while and I highly recommend it. Have fun!!
