I got this game thinking that it would be a fun racing game. Before buying this game, I was really into Stunt-man. Now I realize that Stunt-man is not a racing game, but I liked the cars, the game play was easy yet challenging, etc. So seeing that Test Drive is from Atari just as Stunt-man was, I figured that it would have similar game play. Boy was disappointed. This game, unlike Stunt-man allows you to run your car at top speed into anything incurring no damage to the car. I thought that was not very realistic, and rather lame. Now I understand that it's just a game, and it doesn't have to be realistic. If this was the only problem with this game I would be alright with it. However, the game play is too hard for those who haven't put a lot of time into it, while the game itself isn't fun enough to put a lot of time into it. So you see, it's a perpetual spiral of dis-interest that only leaves you wishing you didn't spend the $2.00 for this game at a used game store. My suggestion to you if you want a fun racing game that gives you the realism of blasting thorough crowded streets would be to go out and purchase one of the Burnout games. Much more fun, and you car does get smashed up. Sweeeeeeet.
