It's decent enough, but it's not the best fighter ever.

The Tekken series is widely known for having great gameplay and a great cast of crazy characters, and so it comes as no supprise that Tekken 6 is no different from it's predecessors in that area. Tekken six features plenty of fighting bears & schoolgirls and crazy ten hit juggle combo's. But sadly i found there to be some minor but flawed gameplay options, that often led me to punch my wall in anger.

The gameplay well, very open & welcomming for begginers. Is actually very hard to get into, especially if you're from other fighting games such as Soul Calibur. So While no doubt Tekken fans will get right into there favourite character right away with Tekken 6's large roaster of 40 characters and straight to the online, the core gameplay behind each character's moveset is basicly the same. Learning how to juggle correctly is Tekken six's greatest flaw, and biggest strength at the same time.

Mastering the game is hard, but rewarding at the same time. But it often leads to many frustrating battles epecially when fighting online, because latenacy can often hamper your ability to perform the combo' needed to win. Which again is one of Tekkens flaws. The timming needed to do the combo's reqires the perfect timming, which is hard when it lags online. Offline doesn't have this issue. But the timming on the combo's is still too picky. So i feel that the Combo's could do with being a bit more relaxed for the gameplays sake.

But the problem is that most skilled players can drain your health to 0% in one long combo, or keep you down on the floor once you are down. At that point once you're in a combo you may as well put the handset down and grab a beer, because it's gameover at that point. And this to me is the frustrating part of Tekken, It's a fun game no doubt, but the juggles are the problem, some of them last for too long and deal too much damage, dodging them also is very hard, you are given a dodge option but when you're character moves so slow to begin with it's hard to pull off. The 360 D-Pad doesn't help neither. And probably this is where my complaints are stemming from, the Analog stick on the 360 is painfully hard to use on Tekken six's control scheme. And most times when i try to doge while using the Joystick the character just doesn't half of the time. They just do a perfetic attempt of dodge, so the controls for me in Tekken 6 just feel really slow and clunky.

Tekken Six features a handful of new characters to play with, Zafina being one that standsout because of her stance based movelist. Which can lead to some fun combo's.

Graphicly the game is decent. But the motion blur while looking neat to look at, makes the game look all jaggy when turned on. So i always have it turned off because your eyes naturally apply motion to fast moving objects, so turning this on seems pointless in fast moving game. If turned off, the game looks good, however some stages look pretty bad. And the overall graphics seem stuck in the past. The scenario mode looks like a bad PS2 Game graphicly and the person who ever programmed the running animation in that mode ought to be shot, because it's horrible to look at. By all means Tekken 6 isn't the worst looking fighter, but it's definitely not the best neither

The Sound design of the game is good, with decent enough voice acting for a fighting game. And with some characters speaking in japanese and others in english, it makes the game feel more natual with it's spoken dialog. The stage music is also fun to listen to, however the english voice's are not subtittled, and when alot of the characters speak quiet like Zafina, it's often hard to hear what they say atter or before a match.

So really Tekken 6, to me feels like a mixed bag, theres alot to like about it, and as far as content goes theres alot in Tekken 6 to like and alot of things to do in the game to keep you playing it for some time. However while personally i would recommend Tekken 6 to anyone who is looking for a new fighting game to play. Theres just issues about it for me that prevent me from really enjoying it like i can with another fighting game that i play alot.
