TMNT II changes up the action a little from the first one and makes the game a multiplayer extravaganza. You can choose from the four turtles and go from stage to stage battles the evil foot and the other enemies of Shredder's clan.

You start on the beach, as all turtles love the beach. You are instantly attacked by the foot soldiers. As you travel through the stages, you encounter bosses like Beebop and Rocksteady. You eventually reach the Shredder and have to take him down.

The game is a basic scrolling beat 'em game with limited moves. You can swing your weapon or jump kick. That is about it. The limited controls hurt the replay value, but you can always try to beat your best score and do it with the fewest number of lives.

It is a step up from the first game, but it has a long way to go to make it to the standard of TMNT4.
