Mario and Yoshi's best adventure yet!

User Rating: 9.5 | Super Mario World: Super Mario Bros. 4 SNES
When the Super Nintendo launched in 1991, Nintendo wanted to use their thousands of colors to make a new 16-Bit Mario adventure. Super Mario World was released shortly after. This game is Mario's first ever SNES game and one of his best games to date.

THE STORY:
Mario and Luigi have taken Princess Toadstool on vacation in Dinosaur Land, not the Mushroom Kingdom. And she is suddenly kidnapped by Bowser (again), and the Mario Bros. must rescue her. You play as Mario (1-player), or Luigi (2-player), and go through the nine worlds and islands and the 96 levels of Dinosaur Land to rescue Princess Toadstool form the clutches of Bowser. There are some new powerups as well, like the Cape. There are several castles and ghost houses to get through. As always, Mario stomps on enemies, kicks some koopa shells, hits bright yellow boxes, and rides on the back of his new green friend (Not Luigi), Yoshi.

Yoshi eats enemies, like koopas and goombas. And Yoshi can make Mario's adventure in this game a whole lot easier to play. However, you cannot bring Yoshi into any castles or ghost houses, he can't go inside any buildings.

Yoshi is regarded as one of the greatest sidekicks in history of video games. He has become so popular, Yoshi has had his own adventures and some of his own puzzle games. Such as Yoshi's Cookie (NES), Yoshi's Story (N64), SMW2: Yoshi's Island (SNES), and Yoshi's Touch 'n' Go (DS).

Super Mario World is such a fun game that can get you hooked very quickly. SMW has become such a great game, that Nintendo has ported it to the GBA and the Wii Virtual Console. It was ranked #4 best in the Mario series by ScrewAttack.com. SMW is mostly regarded as one of Mario's biggest and best adventures yet! We'll just have to see how New Super Mario Bros. Wii is (which has Yoshi in it, by the way). This is an essential for the Super Nintendo, and is a must-have for fans of Yoshi and Mario!
