Another home run for Nintendo. Surpassed my expectations.

User Rating: 9.5 | Super Mario Galaxy 2 WII
Mario Galaxy 2 is a beautiful, whimsical, colorful and exciting experience all the way through. You never really know just what waits for you next. I never thought a 3d Mario game would surpass the genre defining Mario 64. But I may have proven myself wrong.

There is plenty good to say about this game, and a few things I didnt care for so much. I will list them to make it brief:

GOOD:

-The graphics AND design are a wonder to behold. They feel right at place in a modern Mario game.
- The sheer variation in all of the different worlds is impressive. Not one of them feels overdone or poorly planned.
- The option to play as Mario or Luigi is nice, as well as Yoshi being available quite often.
- All of the different Mushroom powerup suits are great and provide fun new ways to play the levels.
The music is top notch in this game. It does alot to make it feel like a large and grand adventure.
- The game is challenging but not difficult. It is very forgiving and you never really get a Game Over.

BAD:

- The flying levels where you take control of the bird have pretty spotty controls. I found myself dying MANY times.
- You may occasionally find yourself fumbling with the controls at a bad time. Long jumping when you mean to backflip and vice versa.

Overall this is probably one of the best Mario games I've ever played. And I was raised on the first Super Mario bros on the NES. After being slightly disappointed by the 'New Super Mario Bros Wii' this game has definitely proven the guys at Nintendo have plenty creative punch to offer. If you own a Wii or enjoy a well made platformer, do yourself a favor and buy this game as soon as possible.
