This game is a great Mario challenge that has some nice upgrades after the NES version.

This is the standard Mario Bros. formula. Go rescue Princess Peach from the evil Bowser. There are no vegetables involved here which is good news. So basically Mario is running around the Mushroom Kingdom making his way through 8 different worlds so he can rescue Princess Peach. So what's new? This game has a variety of cool suits and power ups that Mario can use to his advantage. These include Super Mario, Fire Mario, Frog Mario (for precision swimming), Hammer Mario (for taking out boo diddlys and thwomp traps), Raccoon Mario (allows Mario to fly and tail whack), and the Tanooki Suite (which is essentially Raccoon Mario except that you can momentarily turn into an invincible statue). All these suits are vital to beat this very long game. In fact this game has 90 levels and it also has some e-reader bonus content. On top of that this game now has a save system that works well. My only problem with this game is the difficulty. This is by no means an easy game. In fact I got stuck on some levels for weeks and when you run out of power ups in your item storage the game becomes extremely difficult, but after a lot of practice and play time I managed to beat all 90 levels and I unlocked the free play mode where you can play any level as many times as you want (including the mushroom houses). The game is definitely a blast despite the difficulty and in the end it is a great classic challenge.
