Super Mario 64 is another candidate for one of the best video games of all times; and is second to Ocarina of Time.

Super Mario 64 is quite honestly one of the best video games ever. The reason why? The platforming elements are spectacular and well-done, the variety of environments you get to play in are enormous and different (snow, summer, fall, etc.). Is it the best game ever? No. Why didn't it get a 10? Because of the really, really, really bad plot design. The whole story revolves around Mario being invited to Peach's castle for some cake; when he goes there; Peach has been kidnapped by Bowser (yet, again) and you have to go through a whole bunch of paintings to get to her. Oh, sorry, did that sound weird? "Go through a whole bunch of paintings", yeah, well as Mario the environments are inside of Paintings so you kinda do a Blue's Clues jump into the painting. This, I found cool and many games didn't really do this back when the N64 wasn't dead. The whole game will take you an incredible amount of time to complete, but that's not it, you have easter eggs to find as well (if you have the motivation to do so (oh, such as Yoshi on top of the castle with a prize waiting for you). Anyway... I'd recommend picking this one up considering this is another of the best adventure games I've ever played.
