I'm tired of reading all the fanboy reviews, and the few disappointed ones, with titles like "Been there, done that"

Listen, if you're thinking of buying this game. Buy it. If you think it's hyped up, it is. Buy it.

There's a good reason why this game took so long to come out, and you can tell by the detail in every single map, in every single cinematic, from the voice acting, to the soundtrack, right down in every pixel, It looks and plays superb.

I'm a firm believer in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" logic. They kept the core gameplay down. The core gameplay which ignited an entire nation to broadcast it on television. Of course they're not going to change it. It would have been a terrible idea to do so. The familiarity, added with a BANG is what makes this game so good.

The single player itself offers many hours of playtime, more than any other RTS i've picked up. Why? Again, it's because of detail. There's so much to do from modding units, choosing paths, interacting with the 3D interfaces. Every once and awhile they throw in a bit of nostalgia and give you an old unit like the vulture or firebat which look exceptional in their new environments.

Okay, so my 4 year old computer from grandma's attic can play this, and play it well. What's wrong with that? Last time i checked, most people don't have $4000 high end computers to enjoy the full experience of most games anyways. And the game STILL looks good. Blizzard is smart. Make a game accessible to a lot of people.

But, in my opinion, the best part of this game isn't even the single player, which was done well. The secret lies in the multplayer, and it always did. The new battlenet is smart. It starts you off with a couple of newbie matches and ranks you accordingly, matching you up with the right set of people. There's a slew of other options, but there's so much to talk about i'd be writing for another hour.

You see the thing is, this game has only been out for what, 3-4 months in open beta? 1 day out in stores? Let me tell you. We have not yet seen what this game will be fully capable of. The custom games that will be created are going to be massive, they are going to be creative, they are going to be artistic and many may even put real games to shame. The engine and the customization as well as the scripting they give you access to is going to open up a slew of possibilities. I challenge any other RTS to even attempt to give a gift like blizzard has. Mark my words, this game will live and it will prosper because the community is going to blow the lid off what we can do with the game.

In the end, no lengthy review can do this justice. I don't even want to go into much detail because i feel like i'd be spoiling it for people.

You like tetris? I'm sure Starcraft 2 will cater your needs. How about a good RPG? First person shooter? In time, this game will satisfy all wants and needs.
