Good; for it's time, but sometimes incredibly hard.

User Rating: 7.5 | Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force GBA
I'll start with the good. It has a good control system, and who doesn't like to slaughter a ton of Stormtroopers, Gammoreans, Tusken Raiders, and more? It has 3 vehicle levels to add variety to the constant sidescrolling. Made by Ubisoft, I believe it was the base of gameplay code for Episode 3 for the Game Boy Advanced. For the controls are very similiar. There's some good boss fights, with a rather bland Darth Vader and Boba Fett, but a highly detailed, and well animated Rancor (I now think the Rancor was an inspiration for the Cloverfield monster, with the long arms, hand design and head shape.) The graphics and animation are well, but not the best I've seen from a GBA title. For the most part, the controls are responsive, but a couple times, it registered a tap on the D-Pad as two taps and I end up dashing into a hole.

For the bad. There is no true aiming. Even when using the L button, you shoot a specified angle. Plus, sometimes, it's incredibly hard. No, I'm not a noob, but there are some events where, unless you have more experience with the game, you WILL get GANGBANGED, and practically raped by swarms of enemies. You'll need to be quick, smart, and killing by the dozen to survive. Besides the swarms of enemies, the game can be incredibly easy too. BTW, I understand Bacta Tanks that you can grab to refill you're health, but no regenerating Force?!?!? Come on! The only time you're Force regenerates, is in the final fight, and in the secret level.

Oh yeh, the secret level. It puts you in a never ending arena, so you can be gang banged by all the enemies you face in the game. You'll also unlock these photos and concept art in the Bonus section, as you advance through the game. There's some movie production shots, and even a color photo of Leia in the slave dress.

So overrall, if you're up to a challenge, I suggest renting this game. (Thank goodness for Gamefly). If you're a true Star Wars fan to the heart, though, you may find it disappointing that in both fights, Darth Vader can be easily defeated, or in less then a few tries/deaths, while a group of dozens of relentless Stormtrooper are the real challenge, making dieing, as common as taking a deep breath...
