Such a great game, and yet one with a flaw that almost kills half of it.

User Rating: 8.5 | 'Splosion Man X360
Splosion Man, to be honest, looked stupid when I first saw it. Just some stupid cash in for the Company's sake. I was proved wrong, however, the second I started the demo. It was the most fun I've had in my whole life. So the full version almost blew my skull into a cake volcano. But the first impressions have buzzed down, and I'm gonna review this as it is, great, but with a tragic flaw.

Graphics: For a downloadable game, this looks fantastic. Models are nice and detailed, you can tell what is a Filthy Scientist or delicious cake, and Splosion Man looks as molten as expected. But the backgrounds and such, however, get very repetitive later in to the stages. Aside from bosses, you know what the level will look like. 7.5/10

Sound: The music in this game has a nice spy sense to it. Even though the same song is used for each stage in the major area you're in, it always sounds catchy. Voice acting, while there is little of it, fits the characters. Splosion man is zany, like Freakazoid on even more drugs. The scientists pleas for mercy sound genuine, and the bosses sound like they are feeling the pain. There is also a nice touch with a Guitar Riff that starts to play whenever you Splode, which you hear the full version of during what could be called a QTE on the final boss. And lest we forget , Everybody loves donuts. 9/10

Single Player: 50 levels of just splode from the lower left door to an upper right door. Sound simple? Well it is, until halfway through Area 2, then your controller will most likely be snapped in half by the end boss. Yes, Splosion Man seems to have a difficulty curve of cruising up a 45 degree slope, before trudging up an 89 degree hill, and when you finally do win, it will feel so much more true when you hear the little *Inhales helium* "You are the most awesome of the awesome! You totally beat this game!" So overall, I had some of the most fun of my life with single player. 9.5/10

Multiplayer: Wow, just wow. They could not have messed this up even worse. It made sense right? If 50 levels of one Splosion Man was awesome, why not have up to 4 of them to quadruple it and make it even more awesome than that with 50 levels designed for the mode? Well it would have, if it weren't for the lag on Xbox Live, which is how almost everyone is using it. Even with 2 guys, the lag makes Smash Bros Brawl look 60fps. But this isn't just plain old slowdown lag. Everything you do, your partner/s will be seeing on their screen 5 seconds late, which makes the bosses impossible unless you all are within a mile of each other with full bars. But despite that, it's fun, when it works. Fingers crossed for Twisted Pixel to actually fix it. 6/10

Humor: This game is downright hilarious at times. Splosion Man's expressions, Slapstick between Scientists, the Last Part of the final boss, and the End Credits, all make this the funniest game I have ever played. 10/10

Buy or Pass?: Buy for single player and for multiplayer when it decides to work properly.

Overall: Great game, but let down a little by the lost chance with Multiplayer. 8.5/10
