Brilliant atmosphere but BAD controls let it down

I really liked this game. I wanted to love this game more, as the idea was brilliant, graphics looked nice too.

Set in the future I guess, this game has you moving about in your combat robotic suit, where it is your duty to fight the Genesteelers - these are an "enigmatic" race of creature with big claws and teeth.

This is a combination of strategy and 1st person shoot-em-up. You certianly do have to think hard about how you should tackle the enemy. These creature often have spawn holes, within the vestle you are on. Let me explain, as it is often the case whereby you and your brother Blood Angels are out to stop these nasty aliens on a derelict spaceship / hulk , whereby they have taken over. You can close doors, set fire to room and so foth, in addition to shooting hell out of em.

Nice touches include the player names like "Pelouvious" , and the voices are all different.

GAMEPLAY - sucks !!! while this is a 1st person shooter, it fails to allow proper movement. Yes, it is understood that you're in a big bulky outfit, but the corridors are almost the same width as you, making movment constricted. Then the WORST aspect is the game engine treats you like a cube, and bounces you off walls. You dont just get stuck, it actually rotates you the wrong way - which when you're trying to fight a genesteeler makes it totally unfair and even UN-PLAYABLE.

Giving commands to team mates was an original idea and easily done.

GRAPHICS - in its time they were Brilliant. Nice stills and even nice ingame graphics made for an atmospheric experience.

SOUND - is nicely done and adds to the creepy atmosphere. Groans from the building, added with distant screatches from the enemy, your radar getting quicker as they close down on you, then the cries of your brothers as they see the enemy. Worse is when your team mates die in action - it all becomes frantic.

VALUE - well researched game with plenty of good ideas, so was almost worth its price. However there is that one downfall...

In summary the game is let down by the jerky wall-jangling-spinning gameplay that leads to too much frustration!!!
