1st Sonic appearance on Wii, yet the most Disappointing in the series.
However I see myself as an expert in the game series of sonic as I have owned every title on the dreamcast, saturn, gba, gamecube and wii.
And if I were to compare Secret rings to its to its previous title Sonic heroes or adventure battle 2 I would give it a low 1.
The whole game limits you from any space or movement, as its constantly running, there is no stopping, only left or right. So you are immensly frustrated if you missed an obstacle and have to repeat the whole level to get it, which you then miss again because it was too fast and you couldnt stop. Certain missions seem impossible to achieve, The levels are long, however there are only about 8, which you finish in a few hours, so the gameplay is very short. It is also very repetitive as you do the same level multiple times just with a different mission such as collectin rings, no damage, faster time etc.
I must give sonic team some credit, they tried a new concept of sonic, which sadly fails. on the plus side graphics are very sharp, levels are clean, there are lots of mini games and the soundtracks are entertaining
in conclusion the cons outweigh the pros, so I wouldnt recommend it to sonic lovers from gc, however as a first sonic title it might suit your likes and you'll get some joy out of it
