The best of the best online shooters to hit any console

the socom series have been the most successful ps2 online games. the fun is in the multiplayer and for those of you with broadband i stongly suggest you get a sony network adapter and join the online community. although socom 3 is out, S2 is my favourite. you can choose to play first person or third person but the first person mode is hardly used by most players. The single player however is weak and i do not recommend buying the game if you do not plan to get your playstation online or do not have broadband connectivity. sure there are some lag issues (these are solved in socom 3 however) but the gameplay is addictive. that is why it is called so-crack. there are a huge range of guns - total of 60 weapons including equipment. there is a lot of depth in the game as well. if u like sniping u will be blown away by the different range of snipers - and the new accessory the thermal scope. there are grenade launcher, grenade launcher attatchments, machine guns, assault weapons, smgs, snipers, and a new addon the shotgun. mounted grenade launchers and mouunted machine guns are also included. the game offers 20+ maps and there are some great ones in the mix. there is still is a strong community so you will always have someone to play with. before the release of socom 3 there were 50,000 people on at times on the north american servers, now there are approximately 3000. there are several different types of online missions so the different modes will keep you hooked. the graphics are also great. The sound is also great and the music is there in the background (solemn) and doesnt interfere with the game sounds. it takes a while for u to start getting more kills than deaths because of the good players in the community (just like any online game) so i recommend u start playing in the ensign servers first. it will become easy over time.
