Not too shabby at all

Well I had pretty low expectations when I rented this game. I played the first two games in the series and didn't like them very much. I didn't think they were much "survival" games when you could play it on standard difficulty and have loads of health supplies and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

This game however was substantially different. I was playing the way I played the other games on normal, killing every monster, wasting my ammo. About an hour through I thought "k, I have no bullets, health supplies, I'm about to die and there is monsters everywhere" I restarted the game and played it differently. I was a bit more methodical this time though. I would dodge monsters, ran away whenever I could, learned to block (a life saver on hard), and saved my ammo.

The bad thing is the bad camera. Using L2 and the right stick almost every time you enter a new area isn't fun, in fact, it's very annoying. The controls seem a little clunk at first, but they will grow on you within an hour or two

Unlike the first two Silent Hill games, this one actually incorporates survival into the gameplay. Health is pretty hard to come across, as is ammo (I think there is only 3 SMG clips in the whole game.) This, along with the creepy atmosphere of the game, makes it a pretty good play. It's pretty short, about 10 hours your first time through, but you can challenge yourself with hard puzzles, and harder gameplay (up to 10 unlock able difficulties of hard)
