Not as deep or engaging as the PC versions, however CivRev manages to still be a great console version of the Civ series

Long time fans of the Civ series might be slightly disappointed with this console version of the popular strategy franchise, however CivRev still manages to keep and integrate all the fun elements of the series without losing too much in the process.

As a devoted Civ fan since Civilization II, I found CivRev an interesting take on the series and an amibitious attempt to bring the genius that is Civ to consoles. The long, deep and intricate civilization building experience found in the PC version has been replaced with a quick (60 minutes), cartoony gameplay that keeps the main triumvirate of the Civ experience: Cities, Armies, Technology. Aspects such as minute customization of the country-side with workers, a large array of buildings, units and several parts of the standard tech tree have been scrapped in order to expedite the gameplay experience.

However, CivRev manages to still be fun althought I couldn't help but compare the game to the PC versions at times and feel slightly disappointed. Regardless, until CIV V comes out, I still find myself enjoying quickie gameplay with this title.
