Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is a fascinating SMT game for the Nintendo ds. You and a group of soldiers travel into a strange dimension swallowing up the earth in four different ships. You are equipped with an armour called the demonica that allows you to breathe in the unlivable conditions of the scharzwelt.

The game takes you from sector to sector while fighting demons at a somewhat annoying encounter rate. The game, unlike games like devil survivor, is nearly all dungeon crawling, meaning that if you are expecting or hoping for a game like devil survivor, don't buy it.

The sound for the game becomes annoying after a while and some specific soundtracks are used discreetly in the game which is quite an annoyance when playing this game.

The graphics for the game are not all bad for a nintendo ds game. The dungeons will look good at first but you will be sick of the look after a bout five minutes of playing the game.

One of the things in this game that really annoyed me was it's complete lack of character customization. Unlike in Devil Survivor where you had complete control over your characters and demons skills, you have nearly no control over their skills now and it is quite a nuisance when fighting certain demons that are strong against or are not affected by certain attributes or skills.

Devil Survivor allowed you to choose nearly everything that happened but this simply gives you a dialog choice every now and then that usually doesn't affect the plot but affects your alignment.

The game seems very outdated with the awful sound effects and the repetitive dungeon crawling but all in all it is an addictive adventure game that will last you a long time is certainly worth the money to buy it.
