Croteam preserves the classic gameplay in this insane fun glorious high-definition re-release!

Ok, to be honest I pirated the original games and played them online with a friend and then I bought the HD re-releases because Croteam is preserving that classic run and shoot gameplay which id Software started with Wolfenstein 3D and Doom and has since been long forgotten by most people. This is truly how more games need to be instead of taking away the gameplay in favor of an epic storyline. Quoting John Carmack: "Adding a story to a video game is like adding a story to porn". The Serious Sam games are indeed mindless running and shooting most of the time, but that's what makes them so great. Don't always listen to what the critics say such as "the game is so buggy that it won't run" and "it's the same stuff as before". The game runs flawlessly and what's so wrong with bringing back the same fun as before? Croteam did this to reintroduce Serious Sam and appeal to modern gamers by revamping the graphics. That's simply all it really is and critics get all worked up over it. The original Serious Sam: The First Encounter won some Game of the Year awards with The Second Encounter receiving great ratings.

The Second Encounter is said to be much better by many people and I really agree with them because of the new enemies, weapons, and environments. This re-release not only makes the graphics better, but it introduces new game modes for single player, co-op, and deathmatch. I played it online with my friend in co-op mode on Serious(very hard) difficulty and we literally had a blast. This is a game you don't want to turn down if you grew up playing the classics or even believe in having a fun experience without a storyline interrupting it. So if you're looking for fun, then you found the right game to have it in. Be sure to play with some friends if you can. :D
