The Rise of The Tomb Raider is an amazing sequel to the latest tomb raider game. The story takes place one year after Tomb Raider. Lara Croft is struggling to explain her experiences from Yamatai. She turns to her late fathers research to find answers and that is where the story takes place. Throughout the game many enemies come in contact with Lara trying to stop her from achieving her goal. Enemies including wild animals and Trinity(an evil organization) whose intentions are hard to figure out. There are many optional caves and tombs that present side quests giving Lara certain types of skill upgrades.
The graphics are a great improvement from the previous game. During my play through of the game I felt the graphics were almost lifelike. The games graphics are beautiful and very detailed. From Lara's hair blowing in the wind or shinning while wet to the lighting from the sun, almost every aspect of this game seems real. The game runs exceptionally well with these graphics. It is a visual masterpiece to say the least.
The gameplay was outstanding to say the least. Like all the other Tomb Raider games, ROTTR is in third person. The game gives hints and objectives for the player to ease into the game quicker with a better understanding. Using a feature in the game that is sort of like a sixth sense makes finding hidden objects and important materials easy to find. Combat in the game is interesting as you have to craft your own weapons and ammo. Using sticks to create arrows and scavenging different weapon parts to create guns and bows. All the collectables and caves to explore make this game an Achievement Hunter dream come true. Also with all the puzzles involved with the improved caves and temples makes it a challenge for all types of players.
