Set in Raccoon City at the same time as Resident Evil 2, the RE3 remake of the classic survival horror, starring favorite, Jill Valentine, does not disappoint! This is the first horror game in years to make me actually jump, get nervous and freak out.
Graphics quality is amazing! Voice acting and character animation is top notch. Inventory and weaponry is easy to use. The soundtrack is excellent. This is what made Resident Evil franchise famous. This is how every NEW RE title should be. While the game (for no apparent reason) starts out in first person, the majority of the game is over the shoulder third person. I don't hate it.
A few cons: Not a lot on the puzzle front, while this is a remake I would still have liked to have seen a wider variety of puzzles. The character movement seems to have the same issue as the RE2 remake. The characters are sluggish to move. It feels like Jill is trotting, not running. She goes down stairs too slow, and can't seem to dodge very well because she can't move very fast. For a trained S.T.A.R.S. member she seems a bit lax on combat ability. In the future the characters need to have better and faster move-ability especially when dodging and aiming. I beat the game in like 7hrs. I felt it was a bit short, but it is a remake.
All in all this is a fine game at full price.
