First time i saw a preview of this game i said... Remember me? No. Well now that i played it, yes i will remember you!
I really like the Ghost in the Shell type cyberpunk art style. These French developers did a great job with the art/graphics. I'm playing this during PS4 era, 2017, and im impressed by the looks of it. The areas don't look repetitive even if some stuff could be re-used. Even though it's linear, they did great making the looks of a futuristic Neo-Paris.
Some say the gameplay is bad. I agree the combat is a bit on the repetitive side. Doing the same combos over and over. But... there are different types of enemies that you gotta take out in different ways. Some you need to use health combos, some need to be in the light to be seen, and some bosses need some time to figure out how to take them down. I played it only on hardest difficulty and it gave me a little bit of a challenge... just a little. I enjoyed the beat em up gameplay of Remember Me. You might ask... in the future people don't shoot guns? They were banned, even for law enforcement!
Dontnod Entertaiment need to work on their voice acting though and the story while a bit interesting falls weak. SPOILER, was the car crash really the much of a big deal? I mean seriously! Oh well... whatever.
Remember Me has won me over a bit. Had a good time playing it. After i beat it looking for all the hidden stuff and finishing up the trophies while reading more about the story was enternaining. Even though the story to the sequel is already written, i don't think we will see a sequel... sales were not big. But the ending gives a good closure, so no sequel needed. I recommend getting this if you like what you read!
Dontnod's next game is Vampyr... will keep a bit of an eye on that. Kinda reminds me of some very old vampire PC games i never played from like the early 2000's...
