Going Commando is indeed like an "add-on" for the original R&C. It's a lot of the great gameplay enhanced with cool new weapons, new planets, new bosses and a new storyline. In essence, everything that was good about the original is good about the sequel. There are problems, however, that keep this game from being as good as its predecessor. Firstly, some of the new weapons aren't nearly as fun to use as the ones in the first game. But the MAIN problem with Going Commando is in the "arcade" levels. There are far too many space flight, hoverbike, arena combat type levels and you need to get past to win the game. This - in addition to the ridiculous difficulty of some of the boss battles - made me want to put R&C:GC back on the shelf on numerous occasions. That said, if you liked the first one, there's definitely enough here to keep you happy. Just keep plugging away at the arcade bits, and - if you're not frustrated beyond belief - you'll enjoy some solid planetside action. Going Commando is a good game, but it could've - no, SHOULD've been a GREAT game... I'm hoping in R&C3, the developers will concentrate more on planet-based gameplay, and less on gimmicy "mini-games".
