An increadable game that sets itself apart from the rest of the pack.

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is a third person shooter from Midway that has very unique and interesting concept that makes it a one of a kind game. Players play as Nick Scryer a former psychic agent that gets his mind wiped and dropped in a location that an organization known only as the Movement is about to attack. Shortly after the attack Nick captured by the Movement and players take control of Nick from there on in. While the whole idea of people with psychic power may seem dumb it's actually quite well implemented.

Psi-Ops's graphics are surprisingly good and have real nice touch to them but is not without its far share of problems. All of the psy powers look well done and have their own unique aspect to them. For example the fire effect for Pyrokinesis actually looks like fire. However the only downside to the graphics is the general lack of depth almost all around. Door and rocks feel a little 2Dish while the detail for these objects is there the depth isn't. It's the same story for the character models but their problem isn't just a lack of depth. Both characters and enemies look squished a down little and this makes them seem a little out of proportion.

Psi-Ops's gameplay is pretty solid and plays real well. Players will get to use a variety of psy power throughout the course of the game. The main power that is used Telekinesis as it's the most physics based power in the whole game and is essential to how players make their way through any given level.. Players can hold up to two guns at a time with the pistol being the only one that can't be changed out. So players can't have a machine gun and a shotgun at the same time which may seem a little dumb and frustrating to players.

Psi-Ops's audio is spot on and sound really good. The voice actors for the characters really did a great job in getting their characters to sound just right and in way that matches their characters personality perfectly. The enemies all sound the same with their being no diversity in the voice acting there what so ever.

Overall Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is great game that's easily recommendable.
