@Tauu there is a significant amount of other types of gaming news on the front page, this is a small portion of what gamespot has to offer. i hardly find it political, either. it's just a general human issue.
@Wytsfs @ToughCritic28 then those people who laugh at you are being inconsiderate and ARE hypocrites. It does not, however, hold the same cultural weight due to the issues of long term marginalization and objectification that other races who have been much more severely discriminated against have experienced. It's not right either way, but it's not quite the same because one way has been more consistently wrong, and that's why it gets more attention. I don't want to see scantily clad objectified women OR men dancing at an event.
@Sorciere_basic @ToughCritic28 @ivan_osorio I don't understand why you think this article is meant to divide people and make them yell and scream at each other. the point is including a more diverse range of characters, not dividing them up, or us up for that matter. Nobody is forcing you to agree, nobody is shoving it down your throat. It is much easier for you to ignore articles like this that you appear to loathe so much and find something else to read than it is for someone who is not of the main white male demographic to find a video game to enjoy that reflects themselves.
Including more diversity does mean excluding what we already have a plethora of.
@pancho_villia88 @Smokescreened84 who's saying other opinions don't count? And there would be nothing wrong with you trying to change your situation or how things worked to put you in a difficult position. Why is it wrong for others to try?
@L0mak if you're responding to me, perhaps you should re-read my comment. I wasn't replying to you. But it is concerning how you seem to think a request for more diversity is an attempt to shove it down your throat. I fail to understand why it's so upsetting.
Thank you, Ms. Petit, for continuing this dialog and discussion in a positive manner, even when it's met with such vitriol and unjustified fear of change as what you see in some of these comments below.
@eduardscor @L0mak @Smokescreened84 I guess I don't understand why you would waste your time telling people they're wasting their time simply asking for change... then you keep saying that there are more important problems in the world, which of course famine and war and death are more important, so why are you here commenting on the forums, telling us other things should be more important when you're here with us? Just because greater problems exist doesn't mean we can't try to be constructive about more than the most fundamental of problems.
