So I can't remember how long ago it was when the first trailer for this game came out, but when I saw it, it really got me pumped for the earthquake apocalypse in Chicago. My question is, after two E3s (I think that's what it was) and however many other game conventions like GDC, why haven't we heard anything else about this game.

GTA IV relied heavily on Niko being a sort of shy kind of character. He was fresh off the boat, and didn't necessarily care about rising to the top. In San andreas, it is kind of the exact opposite. Carl and his gang members only care about rising up and taking on the town. Rockstar did a great job with both games, but in the new one, they will have to combine both aspects in some way to keep both groups of fans.

when it comes to online shooters, no. I like to buy games that I can win at, even if it's not all the time. The only games that I do enjoy that I am not good at are fighting games. my friend brought over his copy of the new Mortal kombat game to my house a couple of weeks ago. obviously he kicked my ass, and he wasnt even that good at it. we played online and lost horribly several times, but we both still had fun. i guess its the competitive edge about shooters that pushes people to be the best. with fighting games, you button mash and see what happens. even if you lose, it's still pretty damn funny.

Yep, I think it got a 5.5 on IGN too. Better than a 3, but still mediocre. I was actually thinking of buying this game at some point until I read the ratings and reviews. It's kind of depressing for the developers since they've put so much development into this.

It depends. For things like Halo, that's true for me. When I first got Halo 3, I was amazing at it (after a week or so obviously). Now, when I play Halo 3 or Reach, I rarely get in the top three places where as before I used to constantly be first or second. However, for singleplayer games like GTA or Red Dead Redemption, I seem to be more engaged in the story. I guess it just depends, but I see what you mean.

If so, I will have it on release day. I love GTA and IV was possibly the best game I've ever played. All of Rockstar's stuff is good.
