Keep in mind, 75% of software sales on PS4 and XB1 so far has been Battlefield 4 and CoD: Ghosts. Both games have been out on PC for at least 2 weeks prior. The people buying these "next gen" consoles are just buying stuff they could already have been playing? Seem like idiots to me. Nintendo is going their own way.
You people saying Wii U needs more third party support are just flat out retarded. Nintendo lacks first party software, which is what sells all of their system. Why would 3rd party software suddenly make the Wii U, an admittedly weaker console the preferred system? It makes no sense.
And everyone seems to ignore their 2014 lineup which looks pretty heavy hitting. But the people bashing the Wii U in general are pretty ignorant.
PS2 was amazing, with such a rich japanese library among a gigantic library to appeal to anyone. PS3 was basically geared towards shooter and action fans, and nothing else. The Japanese market/appeal/pedigree is absolutely lost with Sony at this point. (It isnt even out in Japan because there is just no appeal whatsoever, no games.) PS3 ruined playstation for me, since PS2 there just doesnt seem to be a reason to go back.
