@Tiwill44: Exactly. It's like the Star Wars prequels and recent Disney sequels. A lot of them made a ton of money (except Solo, which was a critical and commercial failure pretty much everywhere) but as time passes people realise how terrible they are compared to the original trilogy. Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson and Jar Jar Abrams really helped tank that franchise, even after The Mandalorian helped undo some of the damage. Kathleen doesn't even likeStar Wars 😂

@ecurl143: I see people are still misinformed and quoting the "8 years in development with unlimited budget" nugget which isn't true.

8 years ago the game was in pre-production, which is like the planning stage, i.e. if you were building a house you wouldn't be laying foundations or anything yet. The game entered actual development in 2016 after the last piece of Witcher 3 DLC was completed, and along the way a lot of the dev team's time was wasted doing dumb stuff like fabricating the 2018 narrated video which was more or less a movie and not spontaneous gameplay events. The shift from third to first person happened late in development. The character creator was an afterthought which is why it's not particularly deep and you can't change what you selected initially. These last two were presumably lame attempts to make the game more distinct from The Witcher 3 when it was already a completely different setting and world, so pretty stupid in terms of choice there. The word is it was rushed to sale to appease the shareholders, some of whom are part of the management team so it's self-interest and short-term greed upending what could have been a classic game if more time was spent finishing it.

This project was mismanaged from day one, based on the hubris of a successful game previously. That "apology" video from CDPR on YouTube is so painfully insincere I want to pelt the guy with rotten potatoes. What a dick.

@illegal_peanut: You're better off buying games for half-price, a few months after they come out, the hype (if any) has died down and any annoying launch bugs are patched.

With Cyberpunk 2077, you're probably not gonna see all the launch bugs patched, and the problems go beyond bugs anyway - there are entire games systems that are underdeveloped here including the driving and police, and I don't think that stuff will ever get patched.

The management really reap what they sow now - that short-term greed for Christmas 2020 sales means squandered goodwill and years spent fixing a broken product that's already out in the wild.

@christophersays: I always wonder if increasing population density on the PC means more twins, triplets, quadruplets and quintuplets because even on the console version there's a lot of dupes...

@Tiwill44: Nicely done, a balanced opinion. And yep Dave's humour and charisma do carry the video pretty well, it was entertaining - always a good sign when you wish the video was a bit longer because you were enjoying it, right?

@monkyby87: Maybe he's one of the guys who is supposed to be fixing the numerous bugs but is too busy fighting negative opinions of it on the internet to meet his deadlines.

@twztid13: This is good reasoning, well-explained, interesting how you saw the benefits of something that previously didn't work for you. With age comes wisdom, all that.

@dabuzzer: Someone has all the symptoms of confirmation bias and is using Metacritic as a crutch...

He wasn't talking about the PS5 version, anyway. That isn't out yet. The PS5 version runs the PS4 version at a higher framerate (targeting 60FPS).

Maybe you still haven't worked out you're not supposed to take everything in that video seriously. A lot of it is meant to be flippant, tongue-in-cheek humour.

The rest of what you wrote is spurious crud and not worth commenting on. You just seem like your typical angry misinformed gamer who can't handle the fact that, oh my god total shocker, there are people out there who don't agree with you 100% and it's your job to set them right rather than being open-minded enough to accept not everyone wants or needs to think and feel the same as you about everything.

There's a word for that. Immaturity, I think.

@Ape_Escape_1Fan: I do find it kinda wryly hilarious that some people go into things looking to be offended, and become histrionic rage monkeys with any perceived slight of something they like and paid money for. Then they act as if someone insulted their family, to have the gall to disagree with them even slightly about something as trivial as liking or not liking a video game.

But hey, that's the world we live in. People get butthurt about being disagreed with, totally self-centered, but don't give a crap about people all around the world living in poverty and starving to death.

@dabuzzer: I think his point was, he was looking to play it on a console and so he checked out console reviews, which seems like a totally reasonable thing to do. It would have been unreasonable to use the PC review scores, get the console version and then moan about it, like a lot of people did when it released. To be fair in the latter case, a lot of reviewers got misled by CDPR only giving them the PC version for review, promising (actually lying) that the console versions would run nearly as well, them then passing misinformation on to the gamers, but still.

The real thrash/slant here is the shade you're trying to throw on Dave Klein for doing this, making out like it's a big deal when he's clearly doing it tongue-in-cheek style for the lolz. I found it funny because I took it in the tone it was intended, and because I didn't go in watching it with the intent to be offended and disagreeable to jump on any perceived slights or bias which may not actually exist, which from your histrionic overreaction suggests is the mindset you had when you watched it.
