I only own a PS3, but I have to admit that among most of the games, the 360 consistently has better textures. The one exception is Dragon Age, where I thought the PS3 had the better textures. This tells me that it isn't the system, but the developer that is to blame, and both systems are capable of producing the same level of quality.

Just upgraded to an HD4870 because my 4850 can't run this game at max settings, 1680x1050, 8x AA. Hopefully the 1GB 4870 will be able to handle it with minimal lag outdoors. Here is this 2.5 year old game that won't run at max on a pretty sweet video card, although I will say the game still looks great by today's standards when maxed, especially in the dungeons.

Shame on you so-called gamers! Why *wouldn't* you try to play games on your netbook?! Diablo II and Starcraft make great netbook gaming fodder.

I'm glad I have both systems this time around, because otherwise I would be completely torn. I favor the PS3 because I like the "system" better. I prefer the menu, I like free online play, and I have a PSP, so I also like that integration and I'm loving Blu-Ray. However, more often than not, the 360 seems to have a slight edge in graphics and performance. Whether that is due to its architecture or the fact that most games are made FOR 360 and PORTED to PS3, I can't say. The 360 certainly has better exclusives, at least for the NA market. The New XBL Experience is a stinker, though.

Some games look slightly sharper on one system over another, but generally they look so similar, it hardly matters. To me, exclusives and features matter much more than slight graphical differences or advantages. So many multiplat games wind up with a "home field" advantage anyway, the advantage going to the system it was developed on first. I prefer the PS3 due to many of its non-gaming features, but the 360 often winds up with slightly better graphics or performance because of the above.

It's getting close to time for a new handheld from Nintendo. I'm not sure what purpose this one serves.

People are really misguided about the requirements. It looks like my new $600 PC I built would play this game very well with everything maxed out at 1680x1050, which as the native resolution of my 22" widescreen is plenty for most people. That said, there is no way I'm going to play yet another human/elf/dwarf fantasy MMO. Somebody please make a GOOD scifi MMO!

It hardly seems worth it at the moment. Nice write-up though. Thanks.

We haven't even seen the games that are PS3 native/360 ports yet, which is what most developers are starting to do now. I think some games look better on the 360, some on the PS3, and many are almost exactly the same.

I'd say CoO is on par with GoW1, with GoWII looking like the best of the three. I have long since sold my PSP. Bought it near launch for GT Portable and well... got tired of waiting. However, I haven't played GoWII yet, so I think I'll pick that up.
