@kaziklu_bey: I revisited this thread a bit late, but it is clear that you talk to the kids. Thats why i didnt bother to even reply to Grenadeh. They are satisfied with bloated content of Bethesda games. They like quantity, even though it does not nothing to overall quality of the games. TES writers are dillettants, and their stories and characters are infantile. In F4, the only somewhat memorably written character was that synth detective, cant remember his name, but only his story wasnt idiotic. Reminded me a bit of Bladerunner and noire detective genre.

I play games since point-and click adventures from commodore in late eighties and 386 pc`s in early nineties, and those games were much better written than what Bethesda is doing today. And yes, Witcher is finely written, that is clear even from the first cutscene and intro. Assassins creed 2 had terrific characters and stories also. Later they gone into cliches as well. Maybe first Mass effect also.

I agree with almost the whole review except with one thing.... How do you mean "did they change whole team"? Skyrim was equally stupid with story, zombified characters, big world of nothing. This is exactly Bethesda i am used to. Oblivion was maybe 1% better, but i think thats because it was graphical marvel back then. Fallout 1 and 2 were fantastic games, with cool stories, a lot of great surreal humor, but when Bethesda continued the franchise, they destroyed it. Yes, i include Fallout 3 there. Than this one, even worse than 3.

The game is, alongside Skyrim, the worst game made in history of video games. Period. Everything is infantile and reeks of dilettantism. There are maybe two side quests well written, and 3 characters with nice voice-over, everything else is garbage.

@Zeus149 No, he would have looked something like modern Jews or Arabs, since they were Semitic. Phoenicians from what is today Lebanon founded Carthage.

I am sure that 3rd installment will not disappoint. Given that Brotherhood and Revelations were, although stand alone games, only expansions of AC2, it is completely understandable that they didnt improve much in the terms of gameplay. Script quality was lower probably due to deadlines, and i presume, to the fact that the team was working on the concept of AC3 since the release of second installment. However, i find Brotherhood a great game despite not being as great as AC2. Revelations was indeed an average game, and thats a shame since it was the mediocre conclusion of two great stories. Well written article, mr. McIniss, but there is really no reason to panic ;)
