That would make too much sense. Because he doesn't have to use only GS scores? GS scores are used for flops.[QUOTE="mitu123"][QUOTE="Ravensmash"] Why don't you use Gamespot scores too? Cos you know, we're on Gamespot and all.Chutebox
We're on gamespot. If he has to use a score from another site because the scores on THIS site are too low for him to use in an argument, maybe he shouldn't be trying to argue at all.
[QUOTE="yodaddyninja"][QUOTE="carljohnson3456"] No way. Heavy Rain was a success, critically and with sells. I'm pretty sure the game was released with only hopes that it would be a success... since it's a different type of game.carljohnson3456
They were both hyped the same, and both recieved the same scores.
"Both" What two games are you talking about?Alan Wake and Heavy Rain.

[QUOTE="yodaddyninja"][QUOTE="gaming25"] And lems havent said that?gaming25
Don't be so defensive. You know it's true.
My point is that lems have done that on an even more drastic scale. Not really, no.

Cows don't want Kinect to succeed because Kinect = MS = Xbox. They want Sony and PS3 to succeed so badly even though the majority don't even like Motion controls but defend the Move. LOL. This is SW. It's to be expected.

Exactly. The same people that bashed the Wii are now saying the Move is the next big thing when it's a blatant rip-off.
And the same people who bashed the Eyetoy are now saying Kinect is the next big thing when it's a blatant rip-off. Your point?
I don't like motion controls, but the Kinect is everything the Eyetoy wanted to be. The Move is basically a Wii without any good games to go with it.
If it actually improved gaming then we would be excited.. This is a step backwards not forwards. No deep gaming experiences can by had and thats why no one is excited.. MAYBE someone could come up with something but even if they do thats not what the console is marketed as, and it doesnt matter that MS hasnt had a great last 2 years. If they atleast put any effort in or spent some money towards real exclusives wed all be happy but no they spend over 500,000 million JUST TO MARKET IT... There are SO many better things that money could have gone to but its wasted. It really shows that real games are no longer M$ main priority and thats probably the biggest reason why this is so unsettling and why people want it to fail so actual games that gamers can enjoy can be made..
And maybe when the technology is ready we can take a step forward as radical as this but its not going to happen for a while.. Lag.. amount of space required.. so many other issues and problems are going to cripple the experience and its just not ready to be a viable control scheme or something that would be prefered over a standard control to play a game

The Wii was a giant step backwards. If it wasn't for the Wii's success, we wouldn't even be seeing all this motion control stuff.

I understand that there's plenty of skepticism behind whether or not the Kinect can deliver what it promises or not. I get that.
What I don't understand is how people are acting like this is some kind of plague rolling across the gaming industry. Let me ask you this:
Did MS really have that many more exclusive titles being made by first party devs in past few years, anyway? They've never been that strong there.
Are third parties going to stop making hardcore games for the platform? Obviously not.
Nothing's going to change. All that's happening is that the Kinect will also exist. We're at a size now, as an industry, that the mainstream and core can co-exist very well. This is not going to change the way we game any more than Farmville or Mafia Wars are. It's just going to also be there.
You say that these companies should just focus on making games, but this isns. 't changing the games being made. Nothing is changing. And you all just sound so jaded to anything new.
Really, this goes beyond to all motion controlls, though. This is all basic fan behavior. You want innovation. You want a stronger experience, but when innovations come around showing you the beginnings of what could become a very intrigul part of your gaming experience, you shun it away and act like it isn't worth anything, just because it isn't immediately jumping with depth. Things take time to advance, but if you're against it, all you'll get is more of the same with prettier packaging.
Maybe you disagree with everything I just said, but I understand haters gotta hate.gaming25

Its actually the other way around. Most move threads dont consist of talking about "pwning" the Kinect. while kinect threads generally say something like that.
Not really.
