x86 refers to the instruction set or basically the type of processor. Most modern day desktop and laptop computers use x86 processors by Intel or AMD.
64 means 64-bit memory addresses, which allows for the CPU to use more than 32-bit or 4 gigs of ram. In short, the numbers mean different things, and it's a x86-64 CPU.
So what this means is that both PS4 and XBOX will use similar type of CPU as desktop/laptop computers, and not some exotic custom build CPU like the PS3's cell processor, which should make games a LOT easier to program across platforms.
@Voqar Well, that's what playing with friends, 5 different classes, random monsters, abilities, dungeons, and loot are for right? If a 7 hour single player campaign and a couple of multiplayer map is good enough for a shooter to sell for $60, then Diablo 3 is worth much more than that.
