I disagree. Kingwin makes some great power supplies:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817121040&cm_re=kingwin_mach_1-_-17-121-040-_-Product

Any basis for this other than that they make a 1220 W for $210??? If your going of the Newegg reviews those dont mean much but ive never heard anything good about them please enlighten me though. Personally im going to go with a well known and trusted brand.
While your advice is good to a certain extent, I wouldn't place too much implicit trust in any sole MFG. Antec, and even Corsair have made some pretty shoddy PSU's, and the Kingwin PSU linked above has absolutely top-notch internals.
In short, it's good to follow a well trusted MFG, but it's even better to check individual reviews, as second-rate MFG's sometimes "clean up their act" or release an outstanding product.
And again the top notch item still may fail and it would be nice if you could trust the manufacturer to abide by its warranties and even send you in the MIR which happens all to often with many of them. And i still havnt heard anything good about them to make me want to buy from them.

[QUOTE="abusedbunny"]am3 boards are dual channel, only have 2 slots of ramStrawberryHill
lol... That was the dumbest thing ive ever heard in a while... The majority have 2 sets of dual channel RAM... 2 x 2 = 4.

Really good board for $105 after $15 MIR.
Suggestions
If you are going quad core get the 955 - cheaper and OC almost the same as 965.
RAM dont worry about the speed it is a neglible difference. 1333 and 1600 are the cheapest.
Dont get OCZ RAM. Aim for GSKILL Patriot Corsair maybe Crucial.
For a gaming machine spend as much as possible on the video card. The motherboard above allows you to crossfire - which means to get 2 of them and link them to run almost twice as fast.
DONT SKIMP ON A POWERSUPPLY. Get a good brand such as PC Power & Cooling, Corsair, Silverstone, Antec, or Thermaltake, OCZ (kind of as a last resort). Stay away from almost all the other brands.

I'm trying to aim for $1000 right now too. So far here is what I'm looking at.
MOBO - Trying to stay within the $100-$149 range
4GB Kingston PC3128000 memory - $129.98
Geforce GTX 470 1GB Videocard + Thermaltake 750W Powersupply bundle- $364
AMD PhenomII x6 3.2GHZ Six Core - $300
Picked up an Antec 900 Case B-stock $50
Win7 Home Premium $99

The i7 860 easily outperforms that processor in everything except stuff such as video/photo editing so for gaming definitely with the i7 860.
My suggestion would be to get this combo instead of that CPU and also picks a good mobo.

^This allows you to SLI in the future if you want.
Otherwise this one is slightly cheaper without the crossfire.

Ahh and ram just get the GSkill Ripjaws for $105 the RAM speeds and timings wont make a real impact either and save you like $25.
The OP could grab a very good 790FX ot 890FX motherboard for the same price as the proposed LGA1156 system, and they would easily trump the P55 chipset feature-wise.
And speaking of which, the i7 860 doesn't exactly "easily outperform" the Thuban processor, save maybe in overclocking headroom, but the margin is pretty slim considering how well the Thuban BE processors overclock in comparison to the older Phenom II x4's.
The 1090T benches better and outperforms in video/photo editing but the i5 750 will give a similar gaming performance considering the extra 2 cores may not matter at all and the turbo boost ends up matching the 3.2 ghz anyways and the architecture of either is not significantly better than the other.

Idk im loving the water one right now. This might be the first time ever i start with water. I bet the fire one will the best yet again.
Noskillkill
Fire is so not always the best.
First Gen: yes fire owned
Second Gen: omg Feraligatr is way more better than both Grss and Fire
Third Gen: Water wins again, it even has a double type advantage over fire
Fourth Gen: Both Fire and Water were pretty good, but lets agree that grass failed.
Heh third gen fire was the best no doubt.
second was the only one where fire wasnt the best.

[QUOTE="GamerFilip"]guess it's because it's a 5400rpm drive and not as fast as the new 7200rpm drives already mentioned. ;)a western digital caviar green hdd(500gb)has a good price and it also has a steady temperature and as a result you won't need a hdd cooler:)

Yea greens arnt worth it all compared to the others you can get at relatively the same price.
