@playstationzone: I don't care what Sony claims, it is literally impossible for Sony or MS to know exactly how many consoles they have sold. All they know is how many they'e sold to retailers. They have no clue how many of those consoles sit in inventory at the retailers and cannot find out in a timely or cheap manner. Any number released regarding "units sold" is either a figure for the amount of consoles sold to retailers or is merely a projection.
