I think you've misunderstood. He wants to know if you need Half-Life 2 to run CS 1.6.

I'm quite confused, because I was under the impression that to play CS 1.6 now, you have to buy the full standalone one from Steam. I didn't know that the free mod version was still supported.

But if I'm wrong, and it is still available for free as a mod, then you will need a copy of Half-Life to get it to run, not Half-Life 2.

Hmm...depends. Are you looking for multiplayer or single player? Theres tons of mods for HL2 that give multi...but then again I think from what I remember recently...CS 1.6 is somehow still alive. *Shrug*Gamesterpheonix
