Now about this new PSP... The prospect of extended battery life is fantastic because its simply too short on your standard PSP. Three hours max, but more like an hour and a half for the good games, and the cursed thing can't seem to stay charged. That might have something to do with the "sleep" mode and overly picky sliding power switch. So thank god they somewhat addressed this issue. But most importantly, it is simply unexcusable that there is no second analog nub. There is not a single PSP user on this planet that wouldn't want one and isn't completely baffled by its omission, since it clearly looks like one would fit underneath the four face buttons. What gives Sony? What kind of tunnel-visioned douchebags do you have in your RD department? There is NO excuse for the lack of a second nub, and it cripples the system, regardless of what anyone says. You don't even need to patch the old games, since it would not require Sony to remove anything. Just make it the standard from here on out. And ultimately, that is why this new PSP is pretty much a ripoff. As great as an output port, extra battery life, and slimmer design are, they totally blew it by not making the most obvious choice.

I own a DS and a PSP. I also own a Pocket PC with tons of old Nintendo games on it. They are great and nostalgic. BUT... I am an adult. I live and work in the adult world. And in the adult world, I seldom find myself just sitting around waiting. Thus, my mobile games do not see that much use. Thats not to say that I haven't played the hell out of them, because I have. But usually its at home when I have a console sitting right in front of me that has better games, controls, and display. Look guys, they are both fantastic pieces of technology. But the reason the PSP will NEVER trump the DS is because the Nintendo system targets the mobile game audience, which is CHILDREN AND YOUNG TEENAGERS, who have more opportunities to game on the go (because they don't drive the car or their parents take them to boring places). Additionally, the DS is infinitely more PARENT friendly, because it is A) relatively inexpensive and B) a brand name closely associated with wholesome, clean family fun. This is the exact opposite of a Sony system, which the uninformed masses associate with high cost and mature content (Thanks Rockstar!). So the point of this tirade? You must realize that the mobile game war has nothing to do with which system is superior or has better rated games, because the mobile game war has exactly ZERO to do with "hardcore" gamers like those in this forum.
